Part-time English Teachers - Kofu (expired)

Unitas Foreign Language Academy has a history of English and Japanese language tuition of 50 years and is one of the premier English schools in Yamanashi prefecture. Unitas is located in and around Kofu city with a main satellite branch in Fujiyoshida and 7 other branches throughout the prefecture as well as 2 branches in Tokyo.

We are currently looking for professional Native and Japanese part-time English teachers for our conversation schools, business classes and kindergartens.

Successful applicants will possess the following:

- Native English level skills
- A Bachelors degree (or higher)
- A desire to excel at teaching English in Japan (Candidates with experience preferred)
- Creative and artistic teaching abilities
- Able to create their own lesson plans from our school's curriculum

- Teaching experience and organisation skills
- Enjoys working with children
- Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to drive in Japan either with an International or Japanese driver's license is a plus

Job overview

-Teach from 5 - 20 hours per week

Conversation Classes

- Opportunities to teach elementary aged children, Junior High/High school, as well as adults
- Small classes from 2 - 8 students
- Private lessons available (business, teenagers, Eiken prep, adults, etc.)
- Flexible schedule
- Conversation classes mainly weekdays from 16:30 - 21:00, Saturdays from 9:00-17:15

Business Classes

- Teach on site at a company for short term courses (3 months, 6 months)
- Follow a pre-planned textbook based curriculum
- Group lessons with 3 - 8 students
- Corporate rates

Kindergarten Classes

-Take responsibility for a kindergarten course for at least 1 year
-Teaching short classes on-site once a week
-Class groups from 8 - 30 kids
-Classes mainly in mornings and up to 14:00
-Afternoon English club classes available up to 17:50
-Familiarity with kids songs helpful
-Drivers license necessary
