The multinational Maid Cafe & Bar “Sugoi Kawaii” in Akihabara, Tokyo was established in 2017 as the first maid cafe with cast members from overseas. We are immediately hiring now!

You can enjoy dressing up professionally by cosplaying in super cute “Maid” costumes which are recognized as the most “Moe” in Japanese subculture by working with us. Moreover, you explore your creativity with other costumes like cute characters from Manga, Anime, and Video Games at monthly events. We need your creativity!

Many of our customers are very familiar with a wide range of Japanese subculture, not only general cosplay, but also Manga, Anime and Games. So come enjoy having conversations with others about the things you love! You can improve your Japanese speaking abilities at the same time.

Actually our friendly cast members are from all around the world like Germany, Taiwan, France, Indonesia, Italy, the U.S., Brazil and so on.

Our official language at work is English. But of course, you will talk with customers in Japanese too. Preferred applicants must be able to speak conversational English and Japanese, or be willing to learn and improve.

The first ten days at work will be a training period. We value education, and are very happy to help you learn the role. We have operational manuals and support structures in place for you now.


Responsibilities:
-Dress up with super cute Maid costumes, and for monthly events, as other cute characters from Manga, Anime, and Video Game culture.
-Enjoy having conversations with customers
-Enjoy Karaoke for Anime songs or J-Pop with customers
-Make and serve drinks and light meals
-Clean up the cafe and bar

Prospective Applicant Requirements:
-Strong interest in Japanese Pop Culture and Subculture especially Cosplay, Anime, Manga, Video Games and Fashion.
-No experience required *but those who have worked at restaurants/bars/cafes or hospitality are welcome!
-Japanese: conversational
-English: conversational

Working Conditions:
-Hourly wage: ¥1,000 plus commission bonus
-Flexible work shifts *You can work as little as once a week, and we can meet your schedule
-Working days and hours:
Generally from Tuesday through Sunday
*Thursday & Sunday: from 5:30pm until 11:00pm.
*Friday, Saturday: and evenings prior to public holidays 6:00pm - 4am.
*The cafe is closed on Monday except when a public holiday falls on a Tuesday
- Travel expenses paid up to ¥700 per work day
