Experienced Preschool and ESL Teacher (expired)

Beanstalk International School is now looking for a quality teacher with a high level of personal integrity and professionalism. We are looking for a teacher to teach in an academically challenging international preschool, both co-teaching daily in a daytime preschool class and conducting their own afternoon ESL classes several days a week.

Our class size has grown, so we are looking for an additional teacher.

This position requires a 5- or 6-day work week with preference given to those applicants who can work on Saturdays. The position will start as soon as the applicant is available.


Our ideal applicant should possess the following qualities.
- be a native speaker of English
- a bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in, but not restricted to early childhood education
- passionate and enthusiastic about education
- creativity / ingenuity
- has patience
- loves working with young learners
- enjoys and is competent in music / dancing / performance arts
- understanding of an international school environment and our diverse students
- experience with teaching returnee/international school graduates

Prior experience working with children is required.



Working Hours: Week days 8:50 - 18:30 (depending on your ESL class schedule, some work days may end as early as 17:30), Saturdays 9:30 - 3:30.

Please tell us your potential starting date and if you prefer a 5 or 6 day work week when you send your application. Someone who is available to work on Saturdays (either as a 6 day week or 5 days including Saturday with one weekday off) is preferred.



*Our school participates in special musical events several times (~3) a year, which are often held on Sundays, as well as our Sports Day which is also a Sunday every year. Our preferred applicant will be able to attend these special events.

Our contract period is based on the Japanese school year- beginning in April and ending at the end of March. In this case, we are looking for someone who can stay with us until March 2020 or longer. We will provide actual moving costs of up to ¥100,000 if required.

We also offer a twice-annual performance bonus, 5 weeks paid vacation, transportation fee up to ¥20,000 and health insurance and social security insurance for full-time employees.
