English For You, a conversation school in Matsumoto City, is looking to hire one teacher to begin working around the beginning of March, 2020. Candidates should be native speakers of English, energetic, love working with children, and have at least one year of experience teaching ESL/EFL. English For You will sponsor your working visa. Over 70% of our classes are with young children and an ideal candidate would be familiar with the PLS method. Some Japanese language ability is preferred, but not essential.
We are a small and friendly English language school with two foreign teachers, three Japanese teachers and one staff. Our school is committed not only to language teaching, but to providing our students with the tools they need to communicate confidently with people anywhere in the world. We are serious about our work, and we are looking for someone who loves teaching, is highly motivated, can teach English to a range of ages (from infant to adults), has excellent communication skills, and wants to become part of a great team. We offer extensive training in our methodology at the start of the contract, as well as weekly teacher workshops and feedback throughout the year to help all our staff to develop his or her teaching skills and to share new activities and/or ideas with one another.
Teaching positions at English For You entail approximately 25 teaching hours per week during a five-day workweek (Tuesday-Friday:12:30-21:30, Saturday:10:00-19:05). The salary is ¥250,000 per month during the initial two-month training period, and ¥260,000 per month afterwards. Other duties include writing students’ report cards twice a year, supporting our events and organizing teaching materials and class files.
The school is centrally located in Matsumoto City, only an eight-minute walk from Matsumoto Station. Matsumoto is a lovely castle town nestled within the mountains of Nagano Prefecture in the Chubu region of Japan. Nagano prefecture is especially renowned for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, hiking and climbing in the summer, and its relaxing and therapeutic hot springs and farm-fresh fruits and vegetables year-round.
Matsumoto is a great place to live and has an abundance of outdoor activities. The school provides a private apartment (only ten minutes by bicycle provided by the school) for teachers that includes a washing machine, a refrigerator, and a grill. We cover all deposits and key money, but the teacher is responsible for the monthly rent (45,000~50,000yen). Health insurance is also provided. A performance-based bonus will be awarded to the teacher at the end of the contract year.
