Description

Marie International School is seeking a Homeroom Teacher for the Primary School in Aoyama, Tokyo for our students aged 6 - 12 years old, from APRIL 2023.

MIS was founded in 2020, and although we are a young school, we are blessed with a dedicated, supportive, energetic staff who really want to make a difference in early childhood education. With their help, MIS is under fast growth - we are due to move into our new facility in the coming months. Every space and every aspect of our program is focused on teaching, learning and on building close connections with a gifted faculty. We value each one of the teachers individually just as we care for each student within MIS family. Our goal is to provide a positive, modern and enjoyable environment for teachers to work, and right now we are seeking an energetic, capable individual who share the same vision, to join our team.

Requirements:
-MUST have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Primary Education
-MUST be native level in English
-MUST be located in the Kansai area
-MUST have Teaching Certification, License or Degree in Education

Position Details:
- Provide high-quality, expert teaching across all subjects, built on an evidence-informed understanding of effective teaching
- Ensure teaching is founded on high levels of subject expertise and approaches which demonstrate how each discipline and domain contributes to the MIS Vision
- Be willing to attend teacher training sessions to provide opportunities for teachers to develop in their profession and provide a higher quality of education for the students
- Implement consistent, fair and respectful approaches to managing student behavior, such as deciding on classroom rules that is mutually understood by everyone
- Understand the importance of lesson planning, and provide a class that adheres to each of the learning needs of each student in the class
- Implement functional and fair classroom rules and guidelines, providing a safe and fun learning environment
- Expand upon the school’s curriculum with original ideas and activities
- Assess, record, and report students’ progress
- Participate actively in communication with parents
- Carry out other related activities and responsibilities, including planning for events (e.g. Sports day, Summer School, Halloween Party)
- Teach afterschool programs
