Unitas Foreign Language Academy, Teikyo Branch is seeking experienced teachers to join our English programs on the Teikyo University Hachioji campus. We are looking for teachers for a semi-full-time position, lecturing in a variety of university classes as well as teaching in an on-campus extra-curricular Eikaiwa classes.

• English: Native level
• Japanese: Basic level is appreciated but not necessary
• Must currently reside in Japan
• 2 years’ experience teaching groups of students.
• Strong teaching skills and code of ethics.

• Strong PC skills, able to fully utilize the Microsoft Office Suit (including Excel)


DESCRIPTION
University Lecturer / Eikaiwa Teacher

We are seeking professional teachers to primarily teach university classes and on-campus extra-curricular Eikaiwa classes only open to the university students, however, suitable candidates may be dispatched to either Teikyo University Junior & Senior High School, or Teikyo University Kindergarten once a week. The working schedule follows the university calendar, and therefore includes long holiday periods in the summer and the winter. Please note that this is a full-time position in that you will be working 8 hours (including 45 minutes break), 5 days a week during certain periods which mostly correspond to the regular university semesters.

Teachers may be required to provide online classes for either university or Eikaiwa classes depending on the developing situation concerning COVID 19.

During holiday periods, requested work is paid hourly.

POSITION:
We are now accepting applications from teachers seeking positions to teach English (ESL) programs at Teikyo University (university classes and on-campus extra-curricular Eikaiwa classes)

Full Time period: PAY: ¥275,000/month during FT contract period. Hourly pay during other times.
Part Time period: PAY: ¥3,400/ per teaching hour


STARTING DATE:
March/April 2023

SCHEDULE:
Semi-Full time: The contract is a split full-time/ part-time contract. The full-time period covers one 15-week semester in the spring and an 11-week period in the fall. A payment of ¥275,000 will be split over the months of August and September as a base payment (to be explained in more details in the interview). All other work in periods outside the Full Time periods is paid on a part-time basis.


CLASSES:
Teikyo university classes: Primarily required courses for English, Global Japanese Studies and International Economics majors, etc.
The Teikyo on-campus extra-curricular Eikaiwa: Conversation course that is offered to Teikyo students, teachers, and staff
Teikyo University Junior & Senior High School: Conversation classes
Teikyo University Kindergarten:Conversation classes
