La Porte International School

We are an English immersion kindergarten and english school located in Ichinomiya City, Aichi. We are currently seeking experienced, reliable and motivated teachers to join our innovative team of dedicated professionals. We are looking for positive, energetic and outgoing teachers that have a great attitude and excellent work ethic. The position starts from the beginning of April 2019 or earlier.

At La Porte International School, students learn English through the study of fundamental school subjects such as, Math, Science, English, etc. Learning through the interactive and dynamic study of these subjects makes teaching very interesting and enjoyable. We value literacy in our students, because we know that is the key to retaining and growing their second language skills. We also have a lot of fun with special events throughout the year.

Teachers are primarily responsible for a Kindergarten class of up to 15 students. Teachers are required to teach young learners ranging from 2-6 years old. Candidates should possess not only a genuine love for educating children; they should also posses a sense of responsibility for each student's education and well-being.

Teachers are also responsible for:

-following the yearly curriculum
-creating and implementing enjoyable and informative lessons
-teaching daily after-school English classes and specialty classes
-testing and completing student assessments and report cards
-conducting parent-teacher conferences
-daily cleaning of the classrooms and the school
-preparing students for yearly events such as an Art Festival, Sports Day, and Music Concert

At La Porte, teachers collaborate daily on lessons and events. It is essential that candidates possess strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.

A kindergarten teacher's hours of work are from 9:00 to 18:00, Monday through Friday with a one hour daily lunch break and two hours of class prep time. Twice a week, there is an option to take the lunch break at 17:00 and leave for the day. There are occasional weekend events but the schedule compensates for these events.

Summer Break - 2 weeks
Fall Break - 1 week
Winter Break - 2 weeks

In addition to scheduled holidays, teachers receive 10 paid personal days for the first year.
