Teacher of English to Children (expired)

At 2b English School we have a full-time teaching job at our classrooms in Shiga-ken (Hikone, Notogawa, Omihachiman), starting in March 2021 (start date between March, 15th and April, 1st).

Students come to one lesson each week for 44 weeks of the year. There are four lessons per day, five days a week to 3-12 year-olds so we are looking for someone with experience with this age group, some Japanese ability and a desire to live in beautiful Shiga-ken. Most of all though, you need to enjoy spending time with children.

There are currently five of us teaching and an office manager working to deliver fun and effective weekly lessons to 400 students. We get together daily, online, to discuss lessons and students and to support each other. In this environment your ideas and input will be appreciated and you will also learn from other teachers. We all take pride and satisfaction from seeing our students grow as young people and as English speakers.

Lessons are when children are not at school so that means working evenings and Saturdays (TU-FR 12:00~20:30; SA 08:30~17:00. The position is full time, and the monthly salary is in the 260,000~320,000 range.
