Description

Job Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to work five days a week, Monday through Friday, teaching a content-based curriculum to returnee students at an elite high school near Omiya in Saitama.

With the CORVID-19 situation, we want someone willing to teach at the school to classes with a very limited number of students, following the school's health policies, and/or teaching online when required to do so.

Preferably the person loves literature and has experience teaching TOEFL and/or literature to high level language learners. The work conditions are excellent as the students are highly intelligent and motivated.

Location: High school near Higashi Omiya Station in Saitama

Hours: 7:50 - 4:50

Remuneration: 280,000-350,000 (with national pension, health & labor insurances, and transportation costs up to 240,000 per year) depending on experience & qualifications. As a "thank-you" for joining our team on such brief notice, a onetime bonus of 100,000 will be added to the base salary for a successful and satisfactory completion of contract.

Contract: From Mid-August 2020 to March 2021 with an opportunity to renew from April 2021

Requirements: Must have degree from university or graduate school, current working visa, native English ability, experience teaching high-level learners, and a residence within 90 minutes of the school

Responsibilities: Preparing & teaching content-based lessons, writing student reports, documenting class progress, creating tests, grading homework, counseling students, cooperating with other native and non-native teachers, marking & correcting assignments, helping our Jimbocho team with curriculum/material development, taking part in staff meetings, recording voice for listening materials, etc.

Preferred Personality: Jovial, intelligent, team-orientated, flexible, self-motivated
