St. Dominic's Junior and Senior High School is seeking a teaching professional to teach science and or mathematics in English.
Job Description (1):
Part Time position: From 2018 September~2019 March (2-3 times per week)
-Plan, design and implement yearly teaching schedule
-Curriculum and syllabus design (as well as teaching materials)
-Facilitate, support, and organize events as part of the curriculum
-Attend meetings related to mathematics and science
Job Description (2):
Full time (2019 April onwards)
-Continue with job description 1
-Teach Junior high grade 1 mathematics and science in English
To be successful in this role…
You must hold the following experience and skills:
-Educational visa (instructor’s visa)/ visa to work in Japan
-Teaching qualifications
-Experience teaching mathematics and science to junior and or senior high school students
-Native English speaker and can teach the subjects above
-Computer skills: Powerpoint and Word
Desirable experiences:
-Innovative teaching methods: imagination based
-Project Based Learning (PBL)
-Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)
Payment:
-Job description 1 (PT): Monthly salary of ¥100,000~¥200,000
-Job description 2 (FT): Monthly salary of ¥250,000
1) Implement the use of English-medium instruction (EMI) to deliver science/mathematics lessons in English in a traditional classroom setting.
2) Work two-three times a week, in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.
3) Conduct Managerial tasks associated with teaching:
Curriculum development/syllabus production, student evaluation, and feedback.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
-Formal teacher qualification (Education/Science/Mathematics/or TESOL)
-BS or above /Master’s degree a plus.
-Domestic and international teaching experience.
-Substantial and professional work experience in STEM fields (Science/Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
Other:
-Remuneration will depend on qualifications/experience.
-Salary will be paid on a monthly basis.
