The programme:

At AIC Kids we teach English to children in an all-English setting. This immersion helps set us apart from other English conversation classes. Our students take the Eiken test in order to mark their progress, so our curriculum is partially geared toward helping them achieve their desired level, but it is by no means the be-all-end-all of our classes!

The School and the Details:

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated teacher for our classroom in Takayama City, Gifu prefecture.
Commonly known as Hida-Takayama, the town is located in the mountains of Gifu, and is one of the top travel destinations for both domestic and foreign tourists looking for something off the beaten path.

Working hours : 2:30pm - 9:00pm (Tue - Fri), 9:00am - 19:30pm Sat

Working days: 5 days a week, Tuesday - Saturday, with occasional Sundays

Contract start: ASAP

Contract term: One year, renewable upon favorable performance

Age of students: 3 to 18 years old, separated according to level and age (Jr high/high students and elementary students are in separate classes)

Class size: maximum of 6 - 8 kids (depending on class type)

Salary: 280,000yen per month
Transportation costs covered up to 10,000yen
Pay cycle: 21st of the previous month to 20th of the current month, paid on the 25th of the current month
(i.e. December 21st to January 20th will be paid on January 25th)

Insurance : All employees are covered by social insurance (Health, Pension, Employment)

Training will take place at our main school in Hiroshima. All transportation and accommodation costs for training will be covered by the company. *Please be advised that training may be partially or completely online due to timing or circumstances regarding COVID-19.*

Japanese ability (at least daily conversation level) is strongly preferred.
