Our client school for this position is a prestigious, highly competitive private school located in Chiba near Motoyawata, Ichikawa, Funabashi area. Our client regularly places students at elite universities.
We want to be clear that our client school administrators and students have high expectations for their English classes and their teachers.
Our client school is NOT interested in building student motivation to communicate in English through "fun and games” but RATHER providing students the tools needed to pass college entrance exams as well as use English effectively in an international, academic settings, such as giving presentations in English at conferences.
Teachers are expected to plan lessons, grade tests, and extensively provide comments and evaluate essays when not teaching.
Our compensation package includes (one year renewable contract):
• Remuneration of ¥320,000 per month, or higher up to ¥350,000 for those possessing experience providing students the tools needed to pass Japanese collage entrance exams.
• Remuneration is not reduced during summer, winter, and spring vacations.
• Transportation expenses are fully compensated.
Our ideal candidate will be an instructor who:
-- has experience teaching at a Japanese secondary school.
-- currently lives within a reasonable door-to-door commuting distance to the school campus. This means we will prioritize candidates who live near Ichikawa, Motoyawata, and Nishi-Funabashi or someone who are willing to relocate.
-- has a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution as well as a TESOL qualification.
-- wants to work a full time Tuesday to Saturday, yet be able to have paid summer, winter, and spring holidays off.
-- has native English-level proficiency (native tongue).
-- is able to work as a member of a team to successfully implement an already established curriculum.
-- can plan high level classes that will prepare students for university entrance and English proficiency exams for institutions in Japan as well as abroad.
-- plan and teach lessons on academic presentation skills.
-- has experience dealing with the unique challenges of teaching returnee students.
-- is flexible in working with the staff and teachers at our client school as well as with our off-site office and executive team while keeping a positive mindset.
