Description

Are you looking to teach at a private Jr.&Sr. high school? Helping students, teachers, and schools achieve their goals in English language education? Paid summer, winter, and spring vacations? A supportive back office and management team?

Then we at Project Genius (Korakuen English Centre) want to know who you are! We are looking for candidates to place at one of our client schools (private junior and senior high schools) located in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba prefectures.

Details:
Those with teaching experience and/or with relevant master’s degrees or teaching qualifications are preferred by our client schools. Those with equivalent experiences or qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
Professional support is provided by a flexible, responsive, and experienced team.
Remuneration is from ¥280,000 to ¥350,000 based on the budget and needs of our client. Those possessing a TESOL-related master’s degree receive a higher starting salary.
The monthly salary is not reduced during summer, winter, and spring vacations.
Transportation expenses are fully compensated.

Applicants will be asked to submit both a written lesson plan and a video explaining their lesson plan (after you apply, we will send instructions separately). Those who we feel have the potential to be successful teachers at one of our client schools will be invited to participate in an in-person interview.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
at least one academic year of experience teaching at a public or private secondary school in Japan
experience with both solo and team teaching classes of up to 40 students
a schedule amenable to either a part-time or a full-time position
the willingness to participate in occasional weekend and off-campus events, such as sports days and open campus days
a team player
the ability to work within an established curriculum while also able to diplomatically and proactively initiate changes as needed
a positive attitude and a readiness to work with students, staff and teachers, both Japanese and non-Japanese, as well as with our off-site office and executive team
a base level of technical proficiency required to use online tools to compose and share lesson plans with our office and other teachers within the company
native-level English proficiency
current holders of visas allowing work in Japan
(We do not currently sponsor external applicants, but do support visa renewals and provide guarantor services.)
