Project GENIUS (Operating company: Korakuen English Centre) needs a motivated, adaptable, and outgoing instructor for a part-time German teaching position (once a week only) at a private junior and senior high school in Haijima, Tokyo beginning in April, 2019.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be responsible for teaching returnee students who came back from Germany. You will teach both elementary students and high school students, though each class size is less than 5 students. Therefore, you need to be comfortable teaching those different age groups.
You should believe that teaching is an art in every sense of the word and that you can always do better. To achieve that, you should be willing to take initiative and be able to discuss professionally and diplomatically with us and the teachers and staff at our client school to maximize the value you and your fellow teachers add to the school.
You will either live in or within easy commute of the cities of Haijima, Tachikawa or Hachioji. The school is located in the area near Haijima Station on the JR Line and Seibu Haijima Line. If you live along JR Chuo Line or Seibu Shinjuku Line, you can easily access Haijima Station.
Job Details
We employ those already possessing a visa which allows them to work in Japan. Applicants will have native German-level proficiency. Although not required, Japanese language skills are understood to be helpful to communicate with teachers, staff, and, when necessary, students.
The salary will be 30,000 yen + transportation expenses per month for the duration of the one year contract, even during summer, winter, and spring holidays.
There are two classes in the afternoon once a week. The school might be able to fix the lesson on your preferred day (not guaranteed).
