Description

Thank you for your interest in working for Project Genius, a concern of Korakuen English Centre. We aim to be the premier English language consultancy firm for private secondary schools in Japan. Our client is looking for a teacher who can teach physical education classes.

Our client school for this position is a private school located in Saitama city. The school consists of both a junior and senior high school. One aspect of its curriculum is having teachers with native English level proficiency teach some non-EFL classes in English, including music, home economics, and PE.

We currently have two PE teachers at the school, one who teaches boys’ PE classes and one who teaches girls’ PE classes. Our client plans to add an additional teacher who can teach GIRLS’ PE CLASSES, bringing the number of PE teachers from our agency to three. Although this teacher will also have to each some EFL classes, we will prioritize interest and ability in teaching physical education classes over EFL background and experience for this position.

Our instructors are paid 280,000 yen a month. (This is non-negotiable.) Classes are held from Monday to Friday all day as well as EVERY OTHER SATURDAY MORNING. (Please be aware of this Saturday schedule when considering applying.) We pay all our instructors their full monthly salary every month, even when our teachers are not required to be on site during the summer, winter, and spring holidays. Of course, transportation expenses are fully reimbursed, as well. We want our instructors to be proactive in solving problems but our experienced executive team is always available to our instructors to provide constructive advice, feedback, and support.

We are looking for someone who currently lives within a reasonable door-to-door commuting distance to the school campus, which within walking distance of Minami Urawa station on JR Musashino and Keihin Tohoku lines. Interviews are held in the center of Tokyo at our office near Ichigaya station.

Our ideal candidate:

-- currently lives within a reasonable door-to-door commuting distance to the school campus.

-- is interested in sports and fitness.

-- A TESOL certificate or experience in teaching EFL is advantageous but not required.

-- has a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

-- can work full time Monday to Friday as well as EVERY OTHER SATURDAY MORNING.

-- is willing to be a team player to work within an established curriculum.

-- can keep a positive attitude while working closely with the staff and teachers, Japanese and non-Japanese, at our client school as well as with our off-site office and executive team.

-- possesses native English-level proficiency.

-- wants paid summer, winter, and spring holidays.

We will begin to contact select applicants as soon as we begin receiving applications and will continue to do so until the position is filled. We look forward to receiving your application.
