Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher who loves children. We want someone who is eager to improve their teaching and curriculum building abilities.

Our Schools

FEN Foreign Academy, est. 1989, consists of 3 schools in Asaka, Saitama:

-Asakadai Headquarters (Asakadai Station)
-Asaka Branch (Asaka Station)
-English Place (Asakadai Station)

*This position is based at our English Place location, with occasional visits to our other branches for special events, training purposes, or as a substitute teacher.

Our Curriculum

At our English Place school, we use a phonics-based curriculum with weekly topics and lots of songs, dancing, and games. The idea for our classes is based on an international school program, with many students attending classes multiple days a week in a fully-immersive English environment. Our kindergarten program is 2 hours and our after-school program for elementary school students is 2.5 hours. We also offer textbook EIKAIWA classes from elementary school kids to adults.

Requirements

-Native English Speaker
-Currently resides in Japan
-Holds a VISA eligible for full time work, or new graduate (we renew)
-Bachelor's degree

-Positive, professional attitude
-Willing to work as and on a team


Desired Qualifications

-Early childhood teaching credentials or teaching degree
-at least basic level Japanese
-teaching experience with kids

Duties

-Leading song and dance, playtime, and other physical indoor/ outdoor activities
-Teaching classes and maintaining student records and reports
-Assisting with curriculum development and school year planning
special event planning
-Maintaining the quality and integrity of our programs
-outside kindergarten


Working Conditions

Working Hours: 8 hour shift. 10:30 to 8:30 (any 8 hours between these times). Advanced notice of a schedule change between these times will be given as for you to not be inconvenienced.

Working Days: Tuesday through Saturday (Sunday/Monday off)

Holidays: Holidays: Japanese National Holidays, company holidays are off. Annual 110 days off, plus 10 days paid holidays.

Benefits: Transportation fee reimbursement up to 10 percent of the monthly salary, company provided insurance, housing assistance available (non-monetary; finding only and help with guarantor process if needed), 2 weeks paid training, contract renewal bonus, career advancement opportunities.
