Online English Teacher and Assistant Saturday Day Camp Teacher (expired)

Miralba Kids is currently looking for a native English online lesson teacher for weekdays and Saturday Day Camp assistant to join our staff members who are passionate about English education in Japan. Miralba Kids is changing the way of teaching English in Japan with a first-of-its-kind method that allows children to steadily and enjoyably acquire English language skills through a variety of hands-on experiences.

We are currently seeking applicants who have a comprehensive understanding of early educational standards both in Japan and abroad who can utilize their knowledge and experience as a teacher to provide age-appropriate and fun all-English lessons to children aged four to ten.

We are also seeking applicants who can accompany these children to day camps to play and learn with them to the fullest extent while also ensuring their safety.

Teachers are required to have an engaging teaching style, flexibility, patience, a positive attitude, and enjoy working with children. At least 2 years of prior teaching experience for toddlers through elementary aged children and having a laptop with stable Wi-Fi are required.

Lesson plans/ppts will be provided, but those who can also be responsible for creating teaching materials in the future are preferred. Experience teaching phonics to children aged four to eight with zero English ability and online teaching experience is also preferred.

Online lessons are offered Monday through Friday from 5:45 to 9:40 pm.

Day camps are held every Saturday (4 times a month) from 9:30 am to 5:25 pm with a 45 minute break. Lunch is provided and transportation fees are reimbursed.


We have an immediate need for a teacher who can teach online lessons from home every Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30 pm, and assist with day camps every Saturday.

In the future, the number of lesson slots may increase as we continue to expand and we will also need more teachers for the additional lesson times.

The Day Camp meeting location will start and end in Shibuya-ku. The applicants are required to be on time. Day Camp assistant duties consist of supporting staff and teachers with safely transporting a group of children to various venues, conversing with students in English, playing games/sports and assisting students with reading and writing practice.


We also organize overnight camps during summer, winter, and spring breaks.

We are also seeking applicants who are good at teaching outdoor activities with a variety of ideas to help children learn while being in nature. Those who have experience managing camps for toddlers through elementary age children are preferred and may be asked to take on the role of camp manager depending on experience.

All employees must complete an initial three-month probationary period. After successful completion of the probationary period, the applicant may be offered a part-time position with compensation increasing to more than 2,000 yen, based on qualifications and previous job experience. Applicants must have current work authorization in Japan.

Pay:

■ Online lesson preparation and teaching duties: 1,800 - 4,000 yen/lesson, depending on experience (40 minutes lesson and 20 minutes preparation/reflection)

■ Day Camp daycare and/or Assistant duties: 1,300 - 2,000 yen/hour, depending on experience (lunch provided and transportation expenses paid)

■ Seasonal camp preparation and/or teaching and/or daycare duties: 21,000 yen per 2 days with 1 night (3 meals provided, transportation expenses paid) (Manager's allowance paid separately, depending on experience)
