ABOUT US
We are an English language cafe with our own twists!
The concept is to provide the benefits of free conversation with the structure and reliable, measurable growth of formal lessons.
This is delivered in a relaxed and fun atmosphere where learners can practice using English in a natural environment while having the valuable ability to ask specific questions about English as they come to mind during the conversation.
To achieve this, we are looking for an instructor who can guide the conversations, pausing to explain language questions with a mini whiteboard as necessary, before moving on.
We officially opened in June 2022.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Instructor at CHATSHACK you will:
Manage real-time group conversations (occasionally one-to-one), knowing when to take control, and when to let the conversation flow naturally.
Explain English grammar in a precise and articulate manner, using hand-drawn visual aid when necessary.
Illustrate the different meanings/use cases of various expressions, vocabulary, etc with real-world examples.
Encourage and challenge students to grow their confidence and language ability in a measurable, meaningful way.
Foster an orderly but upbeat environment as part of a fun, progress-driven culture.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Has consistently demonstrated the ability to fulfill the job description, and can give concrete examples to us
Native-level English speaker

Additional preferred qualifications:
1 year teaching English to adults
ESL qualifications
Social media experience
Marketing experience

BENEFITS
Schedule: Work five days a week (between 40 and 45 working hours per week)
Usually from 11 am or 1 pm to 9 pm
Two days off per week (Sunday and Monday)
Overtime: occasional, but not expected
Salary: between ¥200,000 ~ ¥230,000 / Month
Transportation: paid up to ¥15,000 yen a month
Contract Type: 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of renewal
Starting time: Must currently be able to start in early April 2023
Casual dress code (we will provide a branded top)
