DESCRIPTION
Thank you your interest in Heiseigakuen ATOM Kindergarten!

About Heiseigakuen
Heiseigakuen is a group of 2 kindergartens and several satellite pre-schools/afterschool programs with nearly 500 students from 6 months-10 years old. Heiseigakuen, located in Nangoku City, Kochi Prefecture, has been a leader in early childhood education for over 30 years. At Heiseigakuen ATOM Kindergarten we have recently expanded our international communication/cultural appreciation program with the goal of laying a strong foundation for our students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Recent activities have included the exchange of Valentine’s Day cards with an international school in California, an American style Thanksgiving lunch, and we even had a Mongolian yurt on our school grounds for several months.

Location
Near the ocean, mountains and rivers, Kochi is known for its beautiful nature as well as friendly, outgoing people and delicious seafood. An added benefit is that Kochi also has a much lower cost of living than many of the larger cities in Japan.

Position Details
We are currently looking for a full-time, experienced English teacher to join our growing international communications program. Primary duties include planning and teaching lessons with a focus on developing listening comprehension, simple speaking/reading skills, and awareness and appreciation of different cultures. One of our school mottos is “Playing through learning, learning through playing” and as such the teacher is encouraged to bring a personal touch to their lessons. While English language lessons will make up some of your daily duties, this position is much more than the typical Eikaiwa/ALT position. A majority of the morning hours will be spent supporting classroom teachers during activities including gymnastics, music, art, blocks, etc. Regular extracurricular activities, such as farming, art and sports festivals, and weekly swim lessons also help to break up the schedule and keep things exciting. Afternoons are generally spent travelling to one of our satellite locations for lessons with elementary school children enrolled in the afterschool program.

Benefits
Highly competitive salary
10 days paid leave (after 6 months of employment)
Health Insurance/ Pension/ Unemployment Insurance
Maternity/Paternity Leave

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an energetic, independently motivated teacher that loves children and has experience working in a Japanese business environment.

If you love working with kids, are a team player, and would like to experience the quieter side of Japan, we would like the opportunity to meet with you for an interview.

Please submit your resume with cover letter for assessment. We look forward to hearing from you soon。
