Full-time English teacher (ELA) at a private jun/sen high school in Osaka (expired)

A private jun/sen high school in Osaka implementing an English immersion program seeks a full-time English teacher who can teach ELA class. Through their 12 years of education from elementary school to high school, most students start to study English from the first grade in ES with native English teachers.

This is a small international school following Japanese governmental course guidelines as well as that of Korean.

Their goal is to educate “trilingual” students; Japanese, Korean, and English; English is the most focused language. The school maintains students-centered, family-like small classes, consisting of 10-20 students in a class.

This position is on a one-year contract basis, which could be renewed in the following year. With mutual agreement, a long-term employment could be offered in the future.

Starting date: April 2023

DUTY:
approximately 20 lessons of English (solo teaching)
*each grade is divided and taught by three teachers
making lesson plan
test-related duty
classroom management
school PR /three times of open school
teachers' meetings

WORKING　HOUR：
8:15-17:00 (Saturday could be shorter working hour)

WORKING DAY:
from Monday to Friday
every other SATURDAY (the second and fourth Saturdays are off)
*Modified Labor system is introduced

HOLIDAY:
Sundays and national holidays,
Second and fourth Saturdays
10 paid holiday in the first year

Insurance: Private School Mutual Aid and employment insurance
*PSMA is to replace national heath insurance and pension premium


SALARY:
Salary is determined in accordance with school policy.
*commuting allowance is available (commuting pass)

Homeroom teacher allowance or Deputy homeroom teacher allowance
Language allowance (allowance for passing the Korean Language Proficiency Test)
Club-supervising allowance (if you act as a club adviser)

Leading allowance (if accompanied by club or accommodation event leading rate)

REQUIREMENTS:
current resident in Japan
experience in teaching at high school in Japan +3 years
teaching license that allows a holder to teach ELA
*a demo lesson is required on the day of interview in person.
*an assignment and teaching material for the demo lesson is to be provided.

all the required documents should be ready before the interview
*special teaching license of Osaka prefecture will be applied through school for solo teaching class for which, the documents are required immediately.
