A private girls’ jun/sen high school in the heart of Tokyo seeks a part-time native English teacher for solo teaching classes, starting April 2020 on one-year contract basis, possible to extend in the following year for part-time / full-time, and possible to change to a non-fixed contract in a few years later. Experience in private high schools as a solo teaching teacher in a wide level of students is required; otherwise TESOL, CELTA, or teaching certification is necessary for application. This school have over ten native English teachers who work together as a team in making curriculum, exams, and assessment. Students are polite, obedient, and eager to learn. Teaching material for a writing class is available to show your curriculum making skill during an interview with the principal.
On the day when you have classes, working hour is 8:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday, sometimes on Saturday for term exams; working half day is an option. As the time table will be fixed in the end of March 2020, so schedule is negotiable; 6 classes/ 2 working days, per week is minimum, 8 classes on 3 working days, or 12 classes on 4 working days as options. The salary will be decided based on the number of classes and past experience; cf. 250,000 yen/ month (3,000,000 yen/ year) for 12 classes/ week on 4 working days/ week. Commuting allowance is paid. Brain Academy Inc is in charge of first candidate screening on behalf of the school.
