Tokushima Daiichi English Village (TDEV) is a large language education center, aimed at students from preschool to high school. Open since August 2018, TDEV has a mission to help students in Tokushima prefecture (Shikoku) to build English skills and widen their horizons, in an immersive environment.
We are seeking full- or part-time native English-speaking instructors to join our team and work closely with our Japanese parent company.
Our language sessions take place in a variety of room styles, using teaching plans tailored to age, ability and need. Rather than merely focus on traditional language lessons, we use English to explore a variety of artistic, cultural and technical topics. Teachers develop lessons inspired by their own areas of expertise.
Additional responsibilities include:
Tracking students’ development throughout their attendance, run qualitative and quantitative analysis and share insights in reports.
Planning and managing class schedule throughout the year.
Engaging with students and other instructors to identify students’ educational needs.
Developing and organizing events/parties for special occasions such as Halloween, Christmas and summer festivals, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS required
Native proficiency in English
Passion to teach English to ESL students of all ages
Excellent organizational skills
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Education, English, International Studies
Related teaching experience
TEFL/TESOL certificate
Specialized skills in at least one of the following: art, music, dance, science, photography, literature, cooking, film, electronics, sports, programming, history, oration, debate, theater, physical education, etc…
Duration, Working Hours and Benefits:
One-year renewable contract
Working hours: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week including weekends
Health Insurance (FT only)
End of Contract Bonus: 70,000 JPY which will increase after the first year.
