Part-Time English Teacher for Kids at Nagoya YMCA (expired)

We are looking for creative, energetic, and experienced part-time English teachers for the afternoon regular kids English program as below.

STRONG CANDIDATES would be those who:
・have a degree in Education and solid English teaching experiences in Japan
・have a strong passion for nurturing children’s potential through education, and
・are organized, flexible, and able to communicate in Japanese.

[Contract Term for all the listed positions]
July 2021 to March 2022
*Start dates vary depending on positions.
*There are no classes during summer, winter and spring breaks.
*YMCA will inform you detailed academic schedule at the interview.

[Class Locations]
・Nagoya YMCA (Ikeshita): Chikusa-ku Nagoya
・Nanzan Family YMCA: Showa-ku Nagoya

[Class Schedule]
Wednesday at Nanzan (13:30-14：30), Thursday at Ikeshita （16:30-18:00）, and/or Saturday at Ikeshita (9:30-16:00)

[Students]
Kindergarten to Elementary school age

[Wage]
3,600 yen – 17,200 yen per lesson or per day
*Wages vary depending on positions.

[Public Transportation Allowance]
Maximum ￥1,500 for round-trip per day

*Teachers are required to arrive early enough to prepare for the class and stay for extra 15-20 minutes to interact with parents and tidy up the classroom.

[Responsibilities]
Responsibilities include the followings:
・Plan, develop, and teach engaging, enjoyable, and educational English language lessons based on our teaching curriculum and additional instructions to help nurture the potential of our students through the English program (Teaching contents may include phonics, grammar, listening, speaking, reading, writing, theme study, crafts, art, science, social studies. and P.E.).
・Plan and participate in events such as Halloween and Christmas for your class.
・Check homework before the lesson starts every week (mainly Wednesday).
・Set up your classroom before your students arrive and tidy up after class.
・Establish and maintain order in the classroom.
・Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
・Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to provide a duty of care for students and to protect and preserve all materials, equipment, and facilities.
