We are an organization of experts deeply passionate about helping students meet their potential and capture the opportunities of the future.

We are always looking for outstanding individuals to join our tutoring and teaching team. We are currently looking for an Academic Manager to mentor and train a cohort of our teachers. This role will work closely with our Academic Director to facilitate training, manage tutors, track student progress, as well as work on other projects.
This role will be based out of our Tokyo office and working during regular business hours of 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Japan time.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced startup of 140+ team members around the world. You will play a significant role in helping the organization continue to grow by training and managing new tutors and team members.

History (World, US, & European)
Chemistry, Physics, Biology AP/IB or equivalent)
Standardized Test Prep (SAT/ACT, SSAT/ISEE, etc.)

Our students range from elementary, middle, and high school.
We do our best to match you with students in your capable subject areas (please indicate in your application).

- Manage and mentor academic instructors
- Manage the quality of teaching in private lessons and group classes, as well as with various subjects and age ranges
- Increase the division’s revenue, service hours, and unique students
- Maintain the division’s internal costs, teaching quality, and trainer quality
- Support the tutor hiring process with interviews and reviews
- Communicate directly with upper management regarding performance, student scheduling, and goal progress
- Work towards opportunities for greater responsibility and commensurate compensation - this is a management track
- Project work based on previous experience: curriculum development, teacher training, quality assurance, recruiting, and new service development among others

Who you are:

- Entrepreneurial - You are driven to see the business grow and see its impact spread to new clients. You look for new opportunities and ways for the company to improve.
- Nurturing - You are committed to instilling essential learning and teaching skills to students and tutors, so they, too, can reach their maximum potential.
- Test Prep Oriented - You have the mindset to “game the system” and maximize scores: our students aim to earn high scores on the SAT, ACT, AP, IB, ISEE, and SSAT to apply to competitive middle schools, high schools, and universities.
- Disciplined - You know when to apply a soft touch or discipline as needed: to both students and tutors.
- Academically Excellent - You have a superior record of performance academically and on standardized examinations (SAT, ACT, AP, IB, A-Levels, etc.). You have subject matter expertise across multiple subjects: math, sciences, English, etc.
