Description

The Network Analyst will install, troubleshoot, service, and repair telecommunications equipment to include transport and switching systems, routers and LAN switches, servers, local area networks and other telecoms related facilities, and implement service orders in coordination with Network Operations Center (NOC), vendors, and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Test circuits and components of malfunctioning telecommunications equipment to isolate the source of malfunctions, using various hand tools
• Test repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment to ensure that it functions properly and conforms to specifications, using test equipment and observation
• Inspect equipment on a regular basis in order to ensure proper functioning
• Repair or replace faulty equipment such as damaged wires, switching and transport system components, and associated equipment
• Remove and remake connections in order to change circuit layouts, following work orders or diagrams
• Coordinate service delivery with customers and vendors, and respond to any inquiries or complaints
• Analyze test readings, computer printouts and troublw reports to determine equipment repair needs and required repair methods
• Adjust or modify equipment to enhance equipment performance or to respond to customer requests
• Request support from technical service centers when on-site procedures fail to solve installation or maintenance problems
• Route and connect cables and lines to switches, transport equipment and distribution frames using wire wrap guns or other similar tools to connect wires to terminals
• Remove loose wires and other debris after work is completed
• Assemble and install communication equipment such as wiring, switching and transport equipment, wiring frames, power apparatus, computer systems, and networks
• Communicate with NOC using telephone, or other available alternative communication method, to receive instructions or technical advice, or to report equipment status
• Test connections to ensure that power supplies are adequate and that communication links function
• Program computerized telecom equipment to provide the requested feature or implement service orders

Requirements/Skills:
• Minimum of two (2) years of technical education or training
• Minimum of two (2) years of field experience as a telecommunications technician, or equivalent.
• Must be computer literate with knowledge in Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, and others
• Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges or other indicators to make sure an equipment is working properly
• Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
