Description

Aichi Kokusai Gakuen is a bilingual academy located on the outskirts of Nagoya in the quaint city of Nisshin in Aichi prefecture.

Our academy boasts both a bilingual preschool/daycare, along with a bilingual elementary school that has been in operation for over six years.
Our elementary school is currently in the process of applying to become an International Baccalaureate PYP candidate school.
In addition, we are seeking to become registered as an Article 1 school in the coming years.
The majority of subjects and activities are conducted in English, while following the Japanese National Curriculum, a base for lesson planning and development.

We are currently seeking native co-teachers to work at our both preschool and bilingual elementary school for the 2021-2022 school year.

We are hoping to find candidates who are passionate teachers and willing to get seriously involved in the future progress and development of our institution.

Working Conditions and Benefits:
・ We are located close to Meitetsu Toyota Line Komenoki Station in Aichi Prefecture.
・ Five days a week. Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.
(Some Saturdays may be required for events such as entrance exams.)
・ Public holidays including extra time in Summer, Winter, and the full duration of Golden Week.
・ After 6 months of employment, the employee shall be allotted 10 days of paid holidays.
・ Social Insurance provided.
・ Transportation costs covered up to 20,000 yen per month.
・ We are willing to assist if you would like to move closer to the school.
・ Applicants must be willing to work for a minimum of one year. (Must be highly responsible.)
・ Employees that stand in good stature at the end of the year, will be considered for a
permanent contract (seishain)
・ If possible, a copy of your Japanese resume and cover letter would also be preferred.

Required Skills:
・Good command of the Japanese language and able to read Japanese teaching material.
・Collaboration with a Japanese partner and staff in a Japanese professional environment.
・Open-mindedness to Japanese culture and customs in the workplace.
・Teaching and guiding students in daily life habits and manners, as well as, maintaining a standard of discipline that is in line with school aims and policies.
・Willingness to learn, adapt to, and plan lessons alongside a Japanese partner teacher in accordance with the Japanese national curriculum.
・Willing to adapt and support the school with its focus on food education and table manners.
・Ability to follow English-language curricula and develop fully-realized English lessons.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
・Experience in a Japanese office environment.
・Level 1 or 2 of the Japanese Language proficiency test.
・Experience with International Baccalaureate teaching methods (i.e. PYP for young learners).
・Bachelor degree in elementary education or similar field of study.
・Teaching experience in a multi-cultured environment, such as an international preschool
or Elementary.
・Teaching experience with students learning English as a second language.
