The CJK Dictionary Institute has an opening for a programmer with experience in text processing and/or database management to support dictionary databases. The principal activity of CJKI is the compilation of large-scale CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and Arabic lexical resources for a wide array of business applications.

The ideal candidate should have over three years of experience with Python (or equivalent). (Experience in developing mobile apps is also desirable). This is a fascinating job, especially for language lovers, that requires creativity, the ability to manage multiple projects, and good teamwork. A native Japanese speaker or a non-Japanese with good working knowledge of Japanese is required. The person must also have at least an intermediate level of English.

Please note: This position is in Saitama. Only applicants living in around Tokyo area (or willing to relocate) will be considered. Working remotely, except occasionally is not possible.
Note that full-time is desirable but part-time might be possible.

Responsibility:
- Creation of various databases by text processing.
- Programming and data analysis required for dictionary editing.
- Construction and maintenance of dictionary database.

Required Skills:
- Over 2-3 years of experience in text processing using regular expressions.
- 3 years experience in Python or its equivalent language.
- Experience in mobile app development is desirable.
- Candidates who can read and write English emails and documents to some extent.

Work Hours:
9:00 to 18:00
(1 hour break)

Niiza City, Saitama
*4 minutes walk from Shiki station on Tobu Tojo Line

At least 4 to 5 days a week.
The number of work days and hours per week are subject to be discussed.
Some remote work is available.

Holidays:
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

Salary:
¥250,000 ~ ¥350,000 /month (depends on the skill and experience, to be discussed).
