Description

Sano City is now recruiting Assistant Language Teachers(ALTs), preferably with previous experience as an ALT, to work in elementary and junior high schools in Sano City for the school year 2020, from April 2020 through March 2021.

1 Qualification Requirements:
(1) Applicants should be from a country where English is the mother tongue or is used in daily life, and must have a command of English equivalent to that of a native speaker.
(2) Applicants should have a college degree.
(3) Applicants should make serious efforts to improve students’linguistic and
communicative competence in the target language: English.
(4) Applicants should work as a team member; and be willing and motivated to make
good relations with students, teachers and other staff.
(5) Applicants should be of sound physical and mental health.
(6) Applicants should be able to visit any school within Sano City. To visit some of the
schools, driving is required, hence a valid driver's permit (International or Japanese) will
be needed.
(7) Applicants are required to have an ability of daily conversation in Japanese.
(8) Applicants should have a valid working visa.
(9) Applicants' attitude and behavior should be professional in their workplace(s), their
attire should also be appropriate for the job of an assistant language teacher.
(10)Applicants should not have a criminal record.

2 Main Duties:
(1) To assist in foreign language instruction and in the preparation of teaching materials.
(2) To assist with English speech contests and foreign language ability contests.
(3) To assist with seminars for English teachers.
(4) To participate in and assist with extra-curricular activities.
(5) Any other duties specified by the supervisor, or the school principal at your workplace.

3 Period of Contract: April 1st, 2020 - March 31st, 2021

4 Work Days : 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, excluding national holidays.

5 Work Hours: 8:30~16:15, 7 hours 45minutes (including 45 minutes break).

6 Pay(proposed):  
285,000 yen per month (before tax and employment insurance premium subtraction).
There is a salary in August.
(The BOE is unable to assist with housing or transportation expenses.).

7 Welfare: Social insurance.
