2022 Full Time Instructor for Jr. & Sr. High School - Tokyo（到期)

Berkeley House is currently seeking experienced English teachers, who are not just experts in the English Language but educators who can inspire and guide Japanese High School students to venture into the world.


<Contract Period>
April 2022 - May 2023
（Possibility of renewal, depending on performance）

<Typical Working Days and Times>
-Five days a week between Monday ~ Saturday (Usually Monday ~ Friday)
-8:30 am - 3/4/5:00 pm
-5 lessons on average per day
*Workdays and times will vary from school to school

<Job Description>
-teach English and/or other subjects based on the school curricula
-work other than teaching: create lesson plans, prepare materials/tests, assess student progress, attend to extra activities, teach test preparation courses such as IELTS/TOEFL/Eiken, prepare students for study abroad programs, assist students applying for universities abroad, etc.
-must be able to work with Japanese teachers effectively
-may need to occasionally work outside of regular hours for school events
-depending on the assignment, may require teaching at multiple locations

<Salary and benefits>
250,000 ~ 350,000 JPY/Month (Determined per skill requirements)
・Example:
250,000 JPY/Month for ALT positions
350,000 JPY/Month for IB Maths + English

・Transportation expenses will be reimbursed monthly
・Social insurance coverage (health insurance, employment insurance coverage, and pension)
・Completion bonus at the end of school year depending on performance and attendance
・10 paid vacation days after the six-month probationary period
・Visa support for full-time positions


<We are looking for instructors who ….>
・ Are a native-level speaker
・ Possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited University
・ Have a minimum of 3 years experience teaching at a Japanese private Jr. and Sr Highschool
・ Have experience teaching and extensive knowledge of IB/SAT/ACT/Cambridge curricula
・ Experience teaching high-level English students preparing to enter overseas universities
・ Experience teaching preparation courses for entry to overseas universities
・Hold a teaching license or certificate from an accredited organization, such as CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL, etc., which should include a practicum as part of the course work.
・ Have experience teaching subjects other than English: such as Science, Maths, IT, Sports, History, Music, etc.
・ Are team-players
