Berkeley House is seeking experienced and highly motivated English instructors to teach at a boarding school located in the tranquil Mizunami-shi, Gifu.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Teach JHS/SHS English based on the school curriculum both as a solo and team teaching capacity
Assist in curriculum development
Work other than teaching: Create lesson plans, prepare materials/tests, and assess, etc.
Assist and support students aiming to study abroad and those returning from abroad
Cooperating and communicating with affiliated schools in Japan and abroad
Assist and attend extra-curricular activities
Attend regular faculty meetings
Work with other Japanese and Native teachers effectively
Promote the school by attending open campus events, etc.
Conduct in-person and/or online lessons (if necessary)
Provide a safe and secure learning environment


We are looking for instructors who ….

Are native-level English speakers
Are proficient in Japanese (Able to communicate with Japanese colleagues)
Possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited University
Have a minimum of 3 years experience teaching at a Japanese private senior high school
Have experience teaching high-level English students preparing to enter overseas universities
Hold a teaching license or certificate from an accredited organization, such as CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL, etc., which should include a practicum as part of the course work.
Are team-players
Are computer literate and enjoys creating supplemental teaching materials

Period :　
April 2022~March 2023

(Possible renewal of contract depending on performance.)

Work Days and Times:

Monday to Friday 8:20 ~ 17:20　

*Attendance required on a few Saturdays and Sundays: Sports Day, Open Campus Day, etc.

Location:

Private Boarding School in Yachiyo-shi, Gifu

Access:

10-minute Taxi ride from Mizunami Station

*Parking available on Campus

Mizunami Station:

JR Chuo Honsen from Nagoya (50-minutes)
JR Chuo Honsen from Nakatsugawa (27-minutes)


Salary:
3,000,000 JPY ~ 6,500,000 JPY / Year
Negotiable depending on experience and qualification
