Description

With a rich heritage in Japan agriculture that originated with Ford tractors and spans more than 60 years, our company is a constant industry leader for the sales of large machinery. Today, we are an international joint venture whose shareholders are Tokyo-based Shibamoto & Co. and Case New Holland Industrial, which is an affiliate of Fiat Industrial. We are now looking for a native English speaker to join our team as Business Communications Manager.

Our product lineup includes a wide range of equipment from both overseas and domestic manufacturers. As Business Communications Manager, you will take a leading role in overseeing and coordinating matters with our international business partners, primarily located in Europe and North America. The position will provide unlimited potential for professional development in multiple areas, including business administration, international trade, and agriculture-related technologies.

Together with other managers in various departments, you will be responsible for communications with our suppliers, advising on strategies to help strengthen our position in the market, and assisting with resolving complex issues that can occur when importing and retailing high-performance equipment for the agricultural industry. Accordingly, the position requires that you communicate with other company managers and employees using business level Japanese on a daily basis.

Your specific responsibilities will include drafting daily responses in English in coordination with management and other personnel to ensure that various viewpoints are taken into consideration. There will also be occasional business trips with other staff members to participate in mid- and high-level meetings taking place in Japan and abroad with our business partners. The overseas travel will include visits to supplier locations and large exhibitions, especially in EU countries. Therefore, our focus will be on candidates who show they would be a reliable representative of the company.

In short, we are looking for a motivated leader who can work with a minimum level of direction and a high level of responsibility, and who is also looking to stay and build a career here over the long term. The attributes of the ideal candidate are summarized below.

- Native English speaker (preferably North American)
- University degree in business-related field
- Excellent skills in writing business communications, extensively researching topics through the Internet and other media sources, and creating and delivering clear presentations
- The ability to carry out effective discussions in Japanese is an absolute requirement
- Interest in working with our business partners from various countries and cultural backgrounds
- Willingness to assist as a translator and interpreter, as might be required
- Experience working in a Japanese business environment is a plus

As in other industries, agricultural technologies continue to advance at a rapid pace, which is resulting in the development of “smart” and highly sophisticated machines. Our company offers a challenging and rewarding environment as we strive to continue delivering the best products to serve Japan agriculture. If you are interested in making a difference on our team, please provide us with your resume, cover letter, and photo.
