Description

Cambridge International School is an established but growing International school in the Shibuya area. We are looking for a Preschool teacher experienced with teaching children (age 1-5). Japanese nationals are welcome too!

If you have love, great enthusiasm, and affection for working with very young children. We would like to talk to you about becoming part of our team and our small but warm school environment.

All our classes are small; our philosophy is based on generating communicational activity as the children engage in various tasks. By working in close interaction with the teacher the children establish the associated communication that comes with the activity as well as its rationale. Furthermore, they also establish a critical awareness of the task in which they are engaged.

Duties include teaching the school's academic program, preparing for lessons, participating in designing and developing our curriculum, and working with the other teachers, staff, and parents; all requiring very good communicating skills in English. In addition, as the children are so young, this position requires teachers engage in day care such as diaper changing and helping children to eat.

We offer a full academic program to our students including language arts, Jolly Phonics, numeracy, arts & crafts etc. Assessment is also important and at the end of each week's study and we issue a report outlining student learning and engagement using various metrics.

The schedule is 5 days a week, Monday through Friday with 6 weeks of paid holiday. All candidates must currently reside in Japan and have a valid visa status although we will sponsor and re-new visas. This is a good position for the right candidate to further develop their teaching and to help develop our school's programs, as well as communicate that quality to the local community. Candidates will also receive professional development as the school supports teacher development very seriously.

To apply for this position please send an up-to-date resume (with photo), including your availability, and a cover letter explaining your interest and experience pertaining to this position.
