Description

Description:

As part of the Saturday Morning Program Team, the teacher leads and manages all aspects of course preparation and delivery related to classroom teaching and associated duties.


Overarching Responsibilities:

As a member of the Saturday Morning Teaching Team, the Teacher:

1. supports her/his line manager by advancing the Programme in terms of our Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan
2. endorses and models the School’s core values, educational objectives and standards
3. maintains positive and constructive working relationships with all school community members
4. models and promotes a shared vision of inquiry, teamwork, and agency in a blended learning community
5. engages in collaborative professional learning and planning with ‘Core Team’ members
6. has responsibility for the overall achievement and welfare of students in the Program
7. supports her/his line manager in regard to operations and administration of the Program
8. ensures regular, sustained, meaningful communication through timely sharing of information and concerns
9. maintains all documentation and communication through the designated platforms
10. follows all expectations and guidelines as established in published handbooks and policies
11. attends to scheduled duties and other tasks when requested by their line manager
12. participates in initiatives that benefit the students, class, and the program


Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

1. undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualification
2. effective inquiry pedagogy and communication skills
3. demonstrated competency to innovate and solve problems in collaboration with others
4. technical skills associated with the Program
5. demonstrated competency for timely, flexible, and empathetic responsiveness
6. experience working in international schools is an advantage
7. demonstrated competency to deal with conflict in a calm, positive, and solution focused
manner
8. demonstrated competency to work effectively in a team
9. demonstrated competency to support ELL learners
10. demonstrated competency in developing student inquiry, teamwork, and agency in a blended learning community
11. competent in Japanese is an advantage

Shift: Saturdays, 8:30-12:10
