Description

Private Junior and Senior High School in central Tokyo requires full-time or part-time math, science and technology teachers for the academic year starting April 2023.

We do not require any EFL teachers at this time.

The curriculum and content are all fixed and all materials and texts are provided. We are looking for bright, energetic people with a background in science, math or technology who enjoy teaching and are confident that they can provide motivating, challenging lessons to our high-level students up to undergraduate level. Ability to teach AP physics a plus.

The part-time salary is 3,500 yen per hour, times the number of contracted hours, times fifty-two weeks, divided by twelve. An example, a 10-hour weekly schedule would be paid as follows: 3500 x 10 x 52 ÷ 12 = 151,666 yen. It is important to note that for the part-time position, the amount paid remains constant throughout the year so is not affected by summer or winter vacations or by whether classes are scheduled or not. Transportation costs are also covered and all salaries are paid on the twentieth of the month.

Full-time teachers are offered competitive salaries with the usual benefits and bonuses. The teacher would be required to be at school from 8 AM to 5PM, five days a week. One of these days may be Saturday, depending on the schedule. These days do not change once the schedule is fixed.

All classes are 50 minutes in length. The regular school timetable is spread across the week from 8:30 - 15:15 Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings 8:30 - 12:25.

Please be aware that we are looking for teachers who can teach our native-level English speaking students.

We need someone who is a native English speaker with a current, valid visa to work in Japan
