TIS Group has been working with a chain of nursery schools in central Tokyo for the past 16 years to provide them with English classes. We currently have two full-time teachers working at 10 schools however our client has just informed us that they wish to start a new program whereby we have 1 teacher assigned to 1 school full time.
The new position is to be based at our client's Kiyosumi Shirakawa school. The workday is from 8:45 am to 5:45 pm and the workweek is from Monday to Friday. The teacher's responsibilities are broken into two parts: English classes, and Nursery support.
The Kiyosumi Shirakawa school has three nursery classes (0 to 1 year-old, 1 to 2 year-old and 2 to 3 year-old) and three kindergarten classes (3 to 4 year-old, 4 to 5 year-old, and 5 to 6 year-old). The teacher will teach 5 short English classes in the morning, and the remainder of the day involves general nursery work (helping take the children on walks, supervising play time, feeding, cleaning, etc) as well as a 90-minute preparation time for upcoming classes.
This is a unique program with the curriculum taking a sensory approach and teachers using an iPad as well as props and regalia to help students to explore using their senses.
The successful candidate will love working with young children, be patient, friendly, energetic and hard-working.
This position begins April 6th.
