English Conversation and Bilingual Daycare Teacher (expired)

Are you looking for a unique position including the all best that English teaching in Japan has to offer? Imagine English School in Osaki, Miyagi is seeking an energetic, eager-to-learn native English speaker who adores children to join our team at the beginning of summer 2019.

Duties include planning and teaching 45-minute English conversation classes to small groups, and spending time visiting our bilingual daycares throughout Miyagi. We are happy to help you discover where your talents lie, and can tailor the position so you spend most of your time doing what you do best. We also have heaps of yearly events for extra fun challenges. Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided, though we hope to learn from your experience and creativity, too.

We provide full support to help you settle into your new city, including translation help securing a furnished apartment within walking distance and organizing a sponsored visa, so applicants who do not yet reside in Japan are welcome. Miyagi is filled with places to explore on your days off, and the set four weeks of paid holidays a year can be spent travelling even further.

The working week runs from Tuesday to Saturday, with extended lunch breaks and free periods for preparation and administrative duties. Our teachers rarely have more than 30 teaching hours in the 40 hour working week. Performance-related bonuses and a colorful, casual dress code of T-shirts and jeans are just some of the perks. There are also about 300 enthusiastic students from toddlers to adults growing into competent communicators right before your eyes- this has got to be one of the most satisfying jobs there is!
