【仕事内容】

メディアコンテンツの編集や校正などのエラーを発見し修正するだけでなく、正しい言語が使われ、かつ文化背景にあっているかなどを訳する、クリエイティブに仕事ができる方にとって最適なポジションです。テレビや映画配信を通してクライアントに最高のサービスを提供していきます。

The Position

This is an exciting new position that has just been created to support our global client by providing Linguistic Quality Assurance for accuracy and cultural relevancy of TV and film synopses and metadata in Japan native language.

This is a superb opportunity for a someone who can apply their skills and domain expertise, to editing and proofreading media content to find and correct errors, while suggesting/ensuring translations that are culturally relevant, linguistically accurate, and, creative to provide your clients customers with the best TV and film streaming experience possible.

Yes, we will pay you to watch TV all day!!!

The Ideal Candidate

First, the ideal candidate for this role MUST be a “native” speaker in the Japanese language...
Second, you will need to be based in Bangkok, Thailand …
 
In addition:-

- Proven editing / proof reading skills;
- Strong cultural link to your native Japan;
- Knowledge of your local language slang, common phrases;
- Immersion in current culture including knowledge of TV and film;
- Good written / verbal communication;
- Good internet knowledge;
- Strong attention to detail, team work and research skills
 
Your working background should ideally consists of:-
 
- Copy Editing Experience;
- Blogging Experience;
- Marketing Translation Experience;
- Subtitling Experience;
- Software Linguistic Testing Experience

- Someone who likes reading books, watching movies, foreign drama, and plays;

- Has the persistence to research a meaning and/or a background;
- Perhaps you have studied translation; have experience in proofreading and translation;
- Specialized in trans-creation of audiovisual/media content;
- Perhaps you have expertise in other areas such as a journalism / technical communication / interpreting or copywriting;
- Perhaps you have lived in UK/US or worked in English-speaking countries (not required);
- Have a background of marketing work/translation;
- Demonstrable experience in subtitling;
 
Linguistic and textual competence

To be competent in this role, you will need to have the ability to understand the source language (ENGLISH), and have native fluency in the target language (JAPANESE), and, general or specialized knowledge of media/creative conventions.

This linguistic and textual competence includes the ability to apply this knowledge when editing for cultural relevancy and suggesting translation changes.
 

Cultural competence – The ability to make use of information on the behavioral standards, up-to-date terminology, value systems, and locale that characterize both source (JAPANESE) and target language (ENGLISH) cultures.

It is important to be up to speed on TV/film culture in Japan native language.
 
You will need to have competence in research, information acquisition, and processing with the ability to acquire the additional linguistic and specialized knowledge necessary, to understand the ENGLISH source language content and then edit the JAPANESE language content.

Therefore, research competence and the experience in the use of research tools and the ability to develop suitable strategies for the efficient use of the information sources available.
 
Communication – You need to be able to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media and in a manner that engages others, helping others understand and retain the message.

Specific familiarity with navigating the application on multiple devices is key.
