ECC Best Career is looking for native English speaking for a university cafe program. Only qualified applicants (BA or equivalent and relevant experience) will be contacted for interviews. Must be confident and competent in Japanese (N3-N2).
Role: to provide and support English learning opportunities for students in
a variety of ways (classes & workshops, group & one-to-one sessions)
To support the program Director and Assistant Manager
Responsibilities:
-greet students and make them feel comfortable and welcome
-communicate informally with students at every opportunity
-conduct services-related activities (English Practice and Easy
Chat/Culture Talk)
-develop and run original workshops, foreign cultures and
learning languages
-run non-credit conversation courses (Everyday English) & TOEIC courses
-develop and run original short courses in vacation periods for:
-short term study abroad programs
-study abroad exchange program
-local residents (both children and adults)
-Contribute to ongoing development
-promote services to students and staff at every opportunity -
conducting orientations, talking to university staff etc.
-support the Director and Assistant Manager in supervising and
supporting student staff
-assist the Director on materials selection, layout, signage, and decor
-assist in event planning and organization, and attend events during work
hours
-take part in and support research projects which help to inform, develop or
evaluate the program
-be familiar with record keeping systems (book borrowing,
reservations, Google forms etc.)
provide support and conversation sessions in any additional languages the
teacher can speak
Administrative duties
-provide counter cover (including phone cover in both English & Japanese)
-supervise student staff (counter and conversation facilitators) on campus
-open and close office
PR
-lead tours and orientations for staff, students and visitors, in English and
Japanese
-participate in Open Campus events when required (sufficient notice will be
given), including weekends
-cooperate with PR department requests for tours, photos, filming/interviews
etc.
Based in Kansai, starting in ASAP
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 9:45-17:45 (one hour unpaid lunch)
Payment: Salary is set at 14,000 yen per day (there are approximately 235 working days for the year)
- Health and Pension (Shakai Hoken)
- Enrollment in the employment insurance program.
- Visa sponsorship renewal is available (you should have time on your current visa)
- Training will be provided for the successful applicant.
