About Toyonaka city:
Toyonaka city, Osaka Prefecture is a city of about 400,000. It’s located close to the huge city of Osaka and is well connected through public transport. Thousand of people commute daily between the two cities.
About the position:
The placement will be in elementary schools or junior high schools in Toyonaka city, Osaka Prefecture where the AET will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, and cultural festivals and also do occasional hospital visits for English lesson. You will be teaching with Japanese teacher so that flexibility is important for co-teaching.
Contract term:
Elementary schools: April 27th, 2020 – February 19th, 2021
Junior high schools: April 27th, 2020 – November 26th, 2020
Benefits:
・Transportation costs will be covered at a certain rate per month (Up to ¥15,000 per a month)
・Days off include weekends, national holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education's school calendar
・Relocation support if you'll need to move out to Toyonaka City from other areas.
・Ongoing and continuous support (training and advice)
Conditions:
・Monthly base compensation: From ¥220,000 per month (It will be decided after some interviews)
・Working hours: Monday – Friday (8:30am to 4:15pm)
・Placement: Elementary schools or Junior high schools in Toyonaka city
Qualification:
・Excellent English skill
・Holder of a university Bachelor's degree (or higher)
・Holder of a valid visa status that allows work in Japan (visa sponsorship/renewal available)
・Able to speak conversational Japanese: communication is crucial for planning and creating lessons with Japanese teachers of English. We also highly suggest that teachers be able to be involved with the communities here
