We prefer a teacher who can teach twice per week (Tue and Thu) but can consider a teacher who can teach once per week (Tue or Thu) if you have strong background.

Key Responsibilities:

The essays are usually a "statement of purpose," "personal statement," "personal history," and(or) "academic interests." You do not need to offer any advice, professional expertise, and(or) special knowledge on the essays. All you need to do is edit and proofread the essays for grammar, expressions, and how to use words and create paragraphs to make the essays more impactful for admission committees comprising English as a first language speakers. So, we prefer people who have considerable experience in writing and editing English papers (academic research papers, statements of purpose, or personal history statements).

Our pupils are usually adult Japanese students (full-time workers in Japan) who want to apply to foreign universities and graduate schools. Usually, they are students in one-to-one classes at the counseling room in Omotesando (Shibuya, Tokyo) or Kasumigaseki (Chiyoda, Tokyo).

Key Qualities Required:
For this position, teaching experience or special knowledge of how to edit essays is not required (some experience is preferred but not mandatory). We will provide you with the necessary guidelines so that you can acquire the knowledge required for editing and proofreading the English essays. We are looking for someone who has English as a first language, a bachelor’s/master's degree (master's degree preferred), and strong communication skills (you do not need to speak Japanese).

A candidate must have at least a bachelor's degree (or must currently be a university student) or master's degree earned in universities in U.S.A., Canada, U.K., or any other English-speaking country. Graduate students and those who have already earned their master's degrees are preferred.
