This opening is for full-time positions as Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) to work in Ainan, Ehime Prefecture from April 2018.

Global Learning Advancement Department (GLAD) is seeking passionate educators to be placed as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in pre-schools, elementary, junior high and senior high schools across Japan. As a Non-Profit organization, we are looking for high-quality teachers: Individuals who are world-thinkers, team players, and contributors of society who want to make a positive impact on children's lives.

The ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning of the school and cultural festivals.

Contract: April 2018 to March 2019

Conditions:
・Base salary is 230,000~250,000yen per month (Depending on the contract, experience, etc.)
・Monday to Friday. 8:30am to 4:30pm (General Information: Details TBA)
・Transportation costs will be covered at a certain rate per month.
・Days off include weekends, National Holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education’s school calendar.

Position Requirements:
・Must be a native speaker of English, or have acquired an education in English for at least 12 years.
・Must have completed a University Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in English countries.
・Must be currently residing in Ainan or have plans to come at your own expense.
・Must have at least one year of English teaching experience at Elementary Schools, Junior High school experience of working with children.
・Must have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work in Japan.
・Must have a valid driver's license and reliable car in order to commute to schools, legally (we can provide you a rental car).
・Must have Conversational Japanese to plan with Japanese Teachers of English (JTE)

About Ainan Prefecture:

Ainan Town, located on the southernmost point of Ehime Prefecture has a population of about 23,000 people. Its geographical landscape of land and sea allows one to relish different scenes of nature. Ainan is famous for bonito (a type of tuna), pearls, and Mikan (a type of citrus).

Popular outdoor activities are a part of life here – hiking, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and windsurfing to name a few. There are many highlights every season like the firefly viewing in the summer, festivals to view the changing colors of Autumn, hanami (cherry blossom viewing) in the Spring, and not to mention the crystal clear beaches to enjoy swimming in the summer. In addition, there is a fish festival where you can swim with a net to catch fish and seafood within a netted area of the beach.
