Welcome to Sekids!

We are a small, family-run English School based in Koganei, Tokyo for young students who have a strong desire to learn English. We are currently seeking applicants who are highly enthusiastic about teaching, and enjoy the company of children in a balanced, disciplined, and nurturing atmosphere.

Sekids is looking to give the right candidate the opportunity to work with dedicated students in an IMMERSION-based setting. By using stories for native speakers, we work to engage students in a fun and talkative setting. Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are among some of the stories that have been used at Sekids. In addition, challenging articles are used in the higher levels of our curriculum to engage students with native English and current topics.

Our teachers are given the freedom to plan and teach their own classes. This position requires teachers to design lessons that will allow the students’ speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills to grow. On-job training will also be part of supporting teachers to make the best classes for our students.

TEACHING POSITION
- Teaching students of all ages and levels (3-22 years old)
- 40 teaching weeks per year; 7-9 preparation/ training weeks per year
- Working hours: 13:00-21:00
- Teaching hours: 15:50-18:50, 19:30-20:55

Teacher will receive a 15-minute break in-between classes, and a 30-minute break to rest and eat dinner at around 19:00. Additionally, teachers will have more than 2 hours of preparation time every day.

HOLIDAYS
- Saturdays and Sundays plus National Holidays
- Summer(1 week) and Winter(2 weeks) vacation
- Plus 10 paid holidays

APPLICANTS MUST
- Work for 1 year or more
- Hold a valid visa (sponsorship is available)
- Have a BA or university degree
