Description

English Studio is accepting applications for a Full-time English teaching position, starting from 7th November 2017 (negotiable).

Location: 2-min. walk from Kuhonbutsu St. or 8-min. walk from Jiyugaoka St. in Setagaya-ku
Days: 5 days/week, Tue.-Sat.
Hours: Full time teachers work 35 hours a week, teaching 21- 28 hours. Non-teaching time is spent preparing for classes, participating in training sessions and on other non-teaching tasks.
Salary: Full-time JPY 280,000 - 290,000/month
Probationary period: 3 months at 275,000/month
Transportation fees: provided up to 15,000/month
Holidays: 5 days flexible leave after probation, 1 week Golden Week, 1 week summer, 2 weeks winter


English Studio is a well-established school in Setagaya-ku, offering a variety of courses to Returnee and Non-returnee students. Students study on integrated programs based on inquiry learning, including science, social studies, arts and language arts. Our programs have a strong focus on nurturing students' personal and social development, as well as critical thinking skills. You will be joining a staff of 5 full-time and 2 part-time teachers and will receive comprehensive training and support. Student/teacher ratio is low (max. 8 students per class) and teachers are allocated classes for the whole academic year.

The successful candidate must be a native English speaker currently living in Japan. They will have a passion for education and be capable of planning and delivering engaging, creative and enjoyable lessons to students mainly of Pre-school and Elementary age. They will be professional, energetic, flexible, and have excellent organisational skills, as well as a desire to develop as a teacher.
