Preschool Teacher - Tsuzuki-ku Yokohama - Full Time (expired)

Sunny Hills International is a small but growing school with Preschool and After-school programs.


Location
We are located in the North of Yokohama with easy access from Tokyo. 3 minutes walk from Tsuzuki-fureainooka station on the Yokohama Subway Green Line.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys children and likes to have fun at school- Someone who can be silly with the kids but takes their job seriously.

Because we are growing quickly, there may be room for job-advancement for the right applicant. The right attitude and work ethic are the prime traits we are looking for.

Must be a native English speaker who has been through a minimum of 12 years of school in English.
Must have completed minimum 4 years of post secondary education.
Must currently live in Japan and have valid working visa.
Should have experience working with children 1-13 years old.
No requirement for Japanese ability.


Salary
250,000 – 300,000 yen depending on qualifications and experience.
Contract completion bonus.


Work Schedule
Teachers will teach preschool aged children from 9:00 – 1:50 (including one hour of Lunch with the kids). Teachers will have a break from 2:00 – 3:00. Afternoon classes have varying schedules which will be assigned for the semester.


Classes
Preschool / Kindergarten 2 – 6 years old (Max 8 students per teacher)
Afterschool classes are 3 – 12 years old (Max 8 students per teacher)
Students for baby class (with parents) 1-3 years old (Max 6 students per teacher)


Curriculum 
Sunny Hills International has a full and round curriculum similar to an American Preschool or Kindergarten. You will be the main teacher responsible for the class. There will be a Japanese assistant available when needed. The teacher and the students are expected to communicate only in English. Weekly activities include Phonics, Math, Language, Role Play, Rhythm and Dance, Art, Cooking, etc. Teacher will have freedom to add their personal flair to the classes.


Days off
Teachers are given 10 days vacation plus national holidays and special school holidays. The maximum allowable days off will increase every year.


Transit
Full time employees will have their transport covered up to 15,000 yen per month.
