Description

This opening is for full-time positions as Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) to work in beautiful Shitara town East Aichi prefecture from April 2018.

About Shitara Town:

Shitara Town is located in the Kitashitara District in Aichi Prefecture. As of 2010, the town had an estimated population of 5,747. The quiet rural town is on the most northeastern corner of Aichi Prefecture and much of the town’s area is covered by mountains and forest. Portions of the town are within the borders of the Tenryu-Okumikawa Quasi-National Park. In Shitara you can experience outdoor sports like fishing and rowing in the spring, and with the mountains being so close, skiing and snowboarding in the winter.

Conditions:
・Monthly base salary is 240,000~270,000.
・Monday to Friday. 8:00am to 5:00pm (depending on schools).
・Transportation costs will be covered at a certain rate per month (car).
・Days off include weekends, National Holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education’s school calendar.

Global Learning Advancement Department (GLAD) is seeking passionate educators to be placed as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in pre-schools, elementary, junior high and senior high schools across Japan. As a Non-Profit organization, we are looking for high-quality teachers: Individuals who are world-thinkers, team players, and contributors of society who want to make a positive impact on children's lives.

The placement will be in schools around Shitara Town where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning of the school and cultural festivals.

Position Requirements:
・Must be a native speaker of English, or have acquired an education in English for at least 12 years.
・Must have completed a University Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in English countries.
・Must be currently residing in Japan or have plans to come to Japan at your own expense.
・Must have a strong interest in Japanese culture and language and be able to connect with Japanese people.
・Must have conversational Japanese skills (For elementary school)
・Must have at least one year of English teaching experience at Elementary school and Junior High School in Japan.
・Must have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work in Japan (Visa sponsorship available)
・ Must have a Japanese or International Drivers license to commute to schools.
