Description

Borderlink is currently seeking energetic and adventurous ALTs (Assistant Language Teachers) for elementary school and junior high school positions in Saitama and Chiba. Working days and hours tend to be Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, allowing plenty of time for family responsibilities and part-time work.

If you are interested in becoming an ALT, and would like to know more about the difference you can make with Borderlink, we encourage you to apply now. We are currently conducting Skype and in-person interviews for April-start positions.

**Preferance is given to candidates with Japanese speaking ability and an international or Japanese driver's permit.

**Sucessful applicants should live in the general vicinity or be willing to relocate. Borderlink provides assistance in finding housing and in car leasing.

We at Borderlink strongly feel that ALTs are a crucial part of English language instruction in schools, and we want to fully support their efforts to inspire students and their schools. Borderlink is highly respected among boards of education and schools throughout Japan. We provide pre-placement and continuous training, as well as help with apartments, banking, and visa sponsorship. Textbooks, flashcard materials, and lesson plan templates are given upon employment, and our online resource library puts thousands of worksheets and activities at the ALT's fingertips. Our support staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to assist you as you get settled into your schools. We are here to ensure your success, whether you are an experienced teacher or just starting out.

As ALTs work in Japanese schools, applicants should have some proficiency in the Japanese language, or a strong desire to learn it. Your role will not only be that of an English teacher, but also as a cultural ambassador involved in all aspects of school life, including helping with school sports teams, after-school clubs, and school-wide events. Learning extends beyond the classroom, as Japanese teachers and ALTs eat lunch with the students, play with them during recess periods, and help them clean the classrooms.

Borderlink believes that the role of the ALT is to make English fun and “real” for the students. ALTs breathe life into English, talking and laughing with the students, not only in English class, but in the hallways, on the sports field, and anywhere else in between. As an ALT, you will have the opportunity to give students insight that they could never obtain from a textbook alone. By taking just a few minutes to talk about your home country with the students, you can broaden their view of the world.

Thank you for your interest in Borderlink. We look forward to receiving your application!

**Please be advised that only those who pass the initial screening will be contacted regarding interviews.
