Description

Global Learning Advancement Department (GLAD) is seeking passionate educators to be placed as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in pre-schools, elementary, junior high and senior high schools across Japan. Successful candidates will be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about English education.

HEGURI TOWN, NARA Full Time and Part Time ALT (Nara prefecture)

These openings are for part-time and full-time positions as an assistant language teacher (ALT) in Heguri Town, in Nara prefecture.

The placement will be in Elementary schools and Junior High Schools across Heguri Town, where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning of the school and cultural festivals.

These are our current open positions:

・Junior High School Full Time ALT
April 17, 2017 to March 31, 2018
5 days a week
Hours 8:30 to 5:00
Salary 230,000-240,000 yen per month, based on experience

・Nursery School and Elementary Part Time ALT
April, 2017 to March, 2018
1 to 4 days a week
Hours to be determined
Salary 12,000-13,000 yen per day, based on experience

Position Requirements:
・Must be a native speaker of English, or have acquired an education in English for at least 12 years.
・Must have completed a University Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in English countries.
・Must be currently residing in Japan or have plans to come to Japan at your own expense.
・Must have a strong interest in Japanese culture and language and be able to connect with Japanese people.
・Must have conversational Japanese skill
・Must have at least one year of ALT English teaching experience at Elementary school, Junior High school, High School, or Kindergarten in Japan.
・Must have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work in Japan.
・Transportation costs will be covered at 1,000 yen per day maximum.
・Days off include weekends, National Holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education’s school calendar.
