Description

Are you creative, active and imaginative? Do you love teaching children? The International Yamanote Kindergarten is currently seeking an experienced, full-time, native-English teacher to join our team of educators and to help foster our international school community. If you are positive, well mannered, hard working and have an open-minded personality then this may be the perfect opportunity for you.


Working Hours:
Hours for a typical day run from 8:10am until 5:10pm from Monday to Friday, with some events taking place on weekends throughout the school year. It must also be mentioned that teachers are sometimes expected to put in extra hours to provide students with a learning experience of the highest possible quality. A total of over 5 weeks paid holidays are provided during the Spring, Summer and Winter each year.


Training:
1-2 weeks of observation and training prior to beginning full-time teaching. Continuing development and training throughout the term of employment.


POSITION DETAILS:
Daily duties include playing with and supporting the children with their daily activities, as well as eating with the children, providing English lessons/activities, preparation of lessons, events and activities. Music, swimming, cooking, crafts, field trips, outdoor activities, sports days, plays and festivals also make up a big part of the school year. The successful candidate will be asked to actively contribute ideas for new events and activities as well as ways to help improve the kindergartens general English environment. More details will be discussed during face-to-face interviews.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
we will screen resumes to check that the minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted and asked to send references, qualification documents, a recent photograph and arrangements will be made for a face-to-face interview. During this interview a tour of the kindergarten will be given as well as the opportunity to further discuss what the position entails. Candidates will be asked to perform a short English lesson during this interview for us to assess their teaching, children communication and interaction skills. The successful candidate will then be contacted and asked to join our team.
