Berkeley House is now seeking a large number of energetic and vibrant English teachers available to teach during the summer season; starting from July till the end of August.
Though we expect many teachers will be returning home or traveling this summer, we hope we can interest those who have opted to remain in Tokyo with an exciting opportunity to teach English to highly motivated Japanese students of varying age groups: Junior High School~University.
As it is still early days, please note that many of the details are yet to be determined and our information is based on past events.
Period:
July 11th ~ August 31st
*Please indicate your availability during the period above upon application.
*Minimum requirement is the ability to work 2~3 days consecutively.
Location:
Location may vary week to week according to the program but will be within the Kanto area.
Schedule:
The schedule is yet to be set (based on previous years):
・First week <On campus>
・One~three weeks <Off Campus>
・Final Assessment week <Off Campus>
Job Description:
Includes the following but is not limited to...
・Plan and teach based on program curriculum
・Record lesson and student reports
・Attend our onboarding and pre-course training sessions
・Attend a pre-course orientation and mid-course meetings
・Manage and ensure a safe and secure learning environment
Requirement:
Ability to stay overnight if required (Travel cost and Accommodation will be covered by BH)
Minimum of 3 years of ESL teaching experience in Japan
Experience teaching at a Japanese JHS/SHS/College/University
University degree
Native English speaker
Currently reside in Japan
Valid Work Visa
Preference
Teaching certificate preferred (CELTA, TESOL, etc.)
Experience instructing test preparation courses (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, EIKEN, GMAT, AP GCSE, TEAP, etc.)
Proficiency in Japanese
Salary:
Depending on the program schedule:
3,000JPY per hour if 2~3 classes per day
15,000JPY per day for a full-day program
Transportation fees are fully reimbursed.
