Description

NOVA Holdings Co., Ltd. is looking for Assistant Language Teachers to teach English in Elementary or Junior high schools in Katsushika City, Tokyo from April 2019-March 2020. We are seeking an enthusiastic team-player who has a passion for teaching English and is professional in all aspects of behavior, as well as flexible, cheerful, and energetic.

Training and support!
We provide training before starting at your schools as well as follow-up training throughout the year. We believe in teamwork and supporting our ALTs so they can have a great experience teaching at their schools. An online resource library is available to our teachers where they are provided with introduction lessons, textbook lesson plans, games, materials, and more which are necessary for having great lessons with the students.

During the school year, there will also be periodic training seminars with Japanese Homeroom Teachers. The training will be held by University Professors and Instructors form some of the most prestigious Universities in Japan.

≪Duties≫
・Be able to team teach and solo teach English lessons to classes ranging from 25 to 40 students.
・Assist Homeroom teachers with constructing lesson plans and building curriculum.
・Participate in outside of class activities (Other subjects, Clubs, Sports Day, Culture Festival, etc.)
・JHS ALTs: Assist with Speech Contest preparation and judging.
・JHS ALTs: Create and lead an English Café in each school.
・ES ALTs: Attend the School trip to Nikko Toshogu. (sometimes overnight.)
・Participate in student activities and join students during lunchtime and breaktime.
・ Build relationships with students, faculty and the surrounding community.

≪Requirements≫
・Native speaker
・Bachelor`s degree
・Teaching experience (ALT experience preferred)
・Basic Japanese speaking ability (Conversational level preferred for Elementary school)
・Valid residence/visa status
・Professional attitude, team-player, flexible, cheerful, and energetic
・Punctual and Time diligent.
・Ability to communicate with Japanese teachers, students, and company representatives in a
professional manner.
・Be able to live in Tokyo or a prefecture adjacent to Katsushika City. (Out of area applicants can still apply but must be able to move.)
**Although not a requirement, candidates with a TESOL/TEFL qualification are preferred.

≪Remuneration≫
・13,500 yen per working day
・Transportation expenses up to 1,500 yen per working day
・Working hours are typically 6 periods between 8:10AM & 4:30PM
・Completion bonus will be given at the end of the school year

≪Contract type:≫
・Full time
 (mostly 5 days per week)
・Days off correspond to the school calendar
・Contract term is from April 2018 to March 2019
